Introducing CEREC Dental Technology

CEREC is a state-of-the-art system that allows dentists to design and make high-quality restorations in office with incredible precision. Here’s a break-down:

  • CEREC Primescan: This 3D digitial scanner replaces the traditional dental impression techniques used for things like dental crowns, bite guards, and bleach trays. It uses a laser to scan and measure distances from the tooth surface to acquire an image with unprecedented quality. This addition to our dental office has proven to be a great benefit to both us and you.

What does this mean for you, our patient?

    • Comfort: No more gooey impressions in your mouth.

    • Quality: A more accurate dental device (less adjustments).

    • Efficiency: A quicker turnaround time.

    • Plus, you can see your impressions right on the screen! How cool is that?

Enjoy comfort, accuracy, and efficiency with our state-of-the-art technology.

  • The CEREC Primemill is an incredible machine that can mill out a new tooth restoration such as crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers and even bridges (multi-tooth restorations) right in the office during your appointment. Equally amazing is the fact that we can now mill a guide to precisely place dental implants, allowing us to achieve extremely tight margins.

A healthcare professional wearing a face mask is examining dental X-ray images on a computer and a monitor in a dental office.

You might think with all these benefits you could be sacrificing the quality of the restoration. Just the opposite is true. The computer-designed and manufactured crown is formed as a replica of your original tooth for a perfect fit. New ceramic blocks are now available with shade gradients and the ability to stain and polish to replicate the natural color variations in your teeth. They are also made of a solid block of ceramic or porcelain without any metal for a more aesthetic look. And now with the CEREC SpeedFire we can offer patients the strength of zirconia in a single visit.

Cerec is not just for crowns. It also can be used to create an inlay/onlay (a porcelain filling) to replace larger fillings. Using this technology more tooth structure can be saved, and because the filling is milled out of a solid block of porcelain, it is stronger than composite material.

Not only is Cerec able to create an exceptional restoration and save you time and money, but it is also fun! Watch your new tooth rapidly and precisely carved right before your eyes!
